We're all used to seeing nutritional facts on packaged products, but have you ever wondered what nutritional info labels would look like for produce? Fruit & Produce Guide recently created labels for foods that are familiar to us all - fruits and veggies! Remember when you look at these that not all sugar is "bad" sugar. Learn more about the glycemic index of foods and how different kinds of sugars affect blood glucose levels in this weekend's class How Sweet It Is!
These labels have great information, but don't include everything you may be getting from your produce. To avoid exposure to pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides, choose organic produce whenever possible. You can check out the rest of the produce labels and find out a little about what they mean by visiting Fruit & Produce Guide's website! What's your favorite fruit or vegetable on the list? Are there any whose nutritional contents really suprised you?
Health & happiness,
